I haven’t had Mexican food in a while, so I decided to check out DF/Mexico near Goodge Street tube station.
The interior decor is fresh and modern, I especially liked the art on the wall. It’s not your typical Mexican restaurant.
With your table number, you order at the counter or use the self-service machines. You have to fetch your drinks yourself, but the good thing is, refill’s on the house. The food is served by the friendly staff.
I chose the Tacos carne con chile from the DYI Board, which tasted good. I expected minced beef, to be honest, but I should’ve read the menu more carefully. It clearly said slow cooked beef. Anyway, the restaurant has a variety of sauces to choose from, but the Jalapeno salsa was the best: spicy and sour.
A friend of mine had the juicy steak with chipotle and pasilla salsa. It was delicious (I had a bite).
By London standards, the prices are quite decent. The steak cost £10.45 and the tacos £9.95
At the risk of sounding weird, I’m a big fan of unusual restrooms, and DF/Mexico definitely made a creative choice. The toilets are up the stairs, and while washing your hands at the sinks, you can watch the guests downstairs.
